We can also recommend trips to the secluded waterfall "Llanos de Cortez" or to the "Rio celeste" with it's unique light blue water. Floating down the Corobicí river you can marvel many different birds, crocodiles and iguanas. Close to where the river tour starts, you find the "Las Pumas" rescue center with mainly big cats like Pumas, Ocelots or Jaguars. If Costa Rica still doesn't offer enough fauna for you, try the wildlife park "Africa mia", where you can escape to Africa for a couple of hours.

The Santa Rosa Nacional Park has the biggest tropical dry forest in Central America with mainly secondary vegetation and many hiking trails. “La casona”, a little museum gives you an insight into the former life of the “Ticos” on the countryside and tells a bit about Costarrican history. The lonesome beaches Naranjo and Nancite can only be reached by off road cars. |

The Rincon de la Vieja Nacional Park with mostly tropical mountain dry forest and impressing primary vegetation at the foot of the two inactive volcano craters "Rincon de la Vieja" and "Von Seebach" (about 1900m above sea level) is perfect for beautiful hikes to either the craters, waterfalls, boiling mud holes and hot-water springs. Besides a lush vegetation you find a lot of animals, such as white-faced and howler monkeys, coaties, toucans, all kinds of insects and many more. |
